Yet Another Year Passes …

Today is the last day of 2006. And, as the song goes, Another One Bites the Dust.
Compared with last year this has been a nice quiet year. No life changing events. Rather boring actually – and that isn’t a complaint, last year was too eventful!
This year didn’t see any health issues, it did see a couple of nice vacations – Florida in January and a trip to South Dakota in May. I attended a family reunion of my father’s family while in South Dakota and in August a reunion of my mother’s family (Lupton). Amazingly, my dog (now 15 years old) is still around – a good bit slower and having hip problems but he keeps going. Gabino and I are now happily in our fifth year together.
However, not all was good. I did lose an uncle and, very shortly after his death, his wife passed as well. The uncle was the last of my mother’s siblings still living.
I got involved with working some for the campaign of Representative Brad Miller, who thankfully won re-election. I stayed very busy working on my Seaman Family Genealogy website. I made it through a second year without smoking (more of a task than you may think!)
And tonight, just like last year at this time, Gabino and I are going out clubbing to celebrate the New Year. Hopefully 2007 will be a great year for everyone and, with luck, will bring an end to the war in Iraq.
